I serve the people of Texas by partnering with our Program Officers to process and analyze applications for grants across the entire state.

Most Impactful Experience at the Foundation

By far the most fun, impactful experience was working with a great group of colleagues to guide them through the grantmaking process to find and choose a small nonprofit we could recommend to our Board of Directors for a $5,000 grant. We were able to bring Streetside Showers to the attention of the Foundation and the Foundation to the attention of Streetside Showers.

What the Pandemic Changed

Hobbies

I’ve picked up making custom cupcakes and perfecting “the” chocolate chip cookie.

Stockpiled

Snacks for my teenager so I could work from home without nagging or complaining.

Motivation

While working remotely, I could continue seeing my colleagues through Teams and Zoom. Being able to have that face-to-face interaction was mentally important.

Communities still needed help during the pandemic, and the Foundation continued to provide funding and reached out proactively to see where we could help.
